MicroMPX
MicroMPX is a studio-to-transmitter link (STL) codec that transmits a complete FM composite signal—including pilot and RDS—at bitrates from 320 kbit/s (or 176 kbit/s with MicroMPX+), with precise peak control. It lets you generate and distribute your FM signal entirely from the studio.
Audio benefits
MicroMPX is purpose-built for FM and avoids psychoacoustic (perceptual) algorithms, eliminating typical codec artifacts while preserving perfect peak control-even with composite clipping. It retains all the potential benefits of composite clipping, such as increased loudness, clarity, and improved reception, removing the need for high-end audio processors or stereo/RDS generators at each transmitter.
Reliability
MicroMPX features built-in error correction and dual-path support: audio continues seamlessly as long as data arrives over any active connection.
Remote monitoring
Easily add destinations to monitor the signal remotely—at home, or for someone adjusting your processing. The monitored signal is identical to the one sent to transmitters.
SFN: GPS synchronization
Selected encoders and decoders support SFN via GPS with typical timing accuracy under 1 µs.
